As this year’s Captain of Navan RFC, it is with great pleasure I welcome all players, members, supporters and referees to Balreask Old. Having started playing rugby at minis level with Navan at the age of 6, it is a massive honour for me and my family to be selected as Captain for the forthcoming 2015/16 season.I intend to represent Navan RFC to the best of my ability.

As a lot of the older stalwarts of Navan RFC have retired or moved on, as a squad it feels like the start of a new era for the senior team. With the addition of some new recruits, old heads and youths, who have progressed up to the senior team from the highly successful under age system, we have the potential to achieve the highest possible finish in Division 2C. All I ask of the players is to wear the Navan jersey with pride and buy into the team ethos.

Alan Kingsley continues as head team coach this season with the addition of David King as forwards coach. Hopefully their knowledge and expertise will continue to improve players on both an individual and team basis and bring great success to Navan RFC. I would like to wish them both all the best for the season ahead. I would like to thank our strength and conditioning coach Bernard Smyth, physical therapist Gavin Yore, Team Manger Adam Delahunt and Video analyst Mick Aughey. Your passion, commitment and dedication is hugely appreciated by all of the players.

I would like to wish all players, coaches, managers and volunteers from minis level right up to senior level, on both the ladies and men’s teams, all the best for the upcoming season. I am hopeful that we will have a lot of success to celebrate throughout the Club. In addition to this, the 2015/16 season sees the return of the under 20’s team, which is vital for retaining and progressing players to senior level. I wish all involved the very best for the season ahead.

To our president Paul Beggy and the rest of the executive committee I congratulate you on your election and wish you all the best in your roles.

A sincere thank you to all our supporters, your support is massively appreciated, and to the never say die group that travel the length and breadth of the country with us, all I can say is that we value your support immensely.

Finally, I would like to thank my parents, brother and sisters, as well as my girlfriend Aoife, for their continuous support, encouragement and understanding on and off the field.

Yours in Rugby

Bryan McKeever
