What a week for Navan RFC in All Ireland League 2B and the U14Girls!

At the start of the week, Navan RFC were lying in the fourth and final play off position knowing that they had to travel to
6th placed Dungannon on bank holiday Monday night (in the rearranged “snow affected” match) before facing
3rd place neighbours NUIM Barn Hall. In 6 days that may well define their, season Navan came out with 2 wins
and a bonus point against Barn Hall, to move 10 points clear of Wanderers in the chase for the final play off spot.
Alan Kingsley’s team now need only a single point from their final 2 games to guarantee their Play Off spot and
the chance to earn promotion to AIL 2A at the first time of asking.

The Navan RFC u14 Girls travelled to Portarlington RFC for the Leinster Premier League Semi Final on Saturday.
In perfect weather conditions, the crowd was treated to a fast and free flowing game of rugby between two of the best
teams in Leinster. Eventually it was Navan who came out on top 31-21, despite having to come to behind twice, Navan’s
strength in depth off the bench proving vital in securing a place in the season decider against Wicklow next month.
Fingers crossed that John Molloy’s will bring the silverware back to Balreask Old!
